It's Complicated offers three membership plans for practitioners. All plans give you a profile in our directory, access to core practice tools, and community access. Below is an overview of each plan, invoicing fees, and important information on billing and cancellation.

Difference between plans
The Basic plan (β¬29.90/month excl. VAT) is designed for practitioners who want to enhance their online visibility and connect with a professional community. With this plan, you will receive an SEO-optimised profile, visibility in both our international and local therapist directories, a built-in calendar with personal booking page, invoicing with prepay booking option, encrypted client messaging and note-taking, unlimited 1:1 GDPR-secure video calls, and access to our community of mental health practitioners for networking and support.
The Essential plan (β¬49.90/month excl. VAT) builds on the Basic plan and is our most popular plan, offering additional tools and features to help you manage your practice more effectively and attract a larger number of clients. In addition to everything in Basic, you get improved ranking in directory search results, a personal waiting room for video calls, video calls with multiple participants, the ability to schedule recurring sessions, and bulk download and export of invoices (CSV, PDF). This plan is well-suited if you want to use our platform to actively manage and grow your practice.
The Premium plan (β¬79.90/month excl. VAT) offers the most comprehensive set of features, empowering you to fully optimise your practice and maximise client acquisition. In addition to everything in Basic and Essential, you get top ranking in directory search results, an embedded introduction video on your profile, the lowest invoicing transaction fees (3.5% on all client invoices), and prioritised customer support reply times. This plan is best for practitioners who want to use our platform as a one-stop shop for running their practice.
All plans are also available on a yearly billing cycle at up to 33% off. You can switch between monthly and yearly billing in your dashboard under Settings β Subscription. If you switch from a lower to a higher plan mid-cycle, the remaining value of your current plan is applied as a credit towards the new plan price. Downgrading mid-cycle does not result in a refund β your current plan remains active until the end of the billing period, after which the lower plan takes effect.
Invoicing fees
When invoicing clients through the It's Complicated platform, the following fees apply depending on your plan:
- Basic and Essential: 25% commission fee on the first invoice for new clients, 5% fee on repeat client invoices. If you invite an existing client to the platform via email or by sharing your profile link, they are treated as a repeat client and the 5% fee applies from their very first invoice.
- Premium: 3.5% payment processing fee on all client invoices.

Billing period
Your subscription begins on the day you complete your payment and renews automatically every month (or year, if on a yearly plan) on that same date. If you do not wish to renew, you must cancel your subscription before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. Note that any subscription fees charged up until that point will not be refunded.
Cancellation terms
To avoid being charged for the next billing cycle, cancel your subscription before the last day of your current subscription period. For monthly subscriptions, cancelling before the last day of the cycle ensures you won't be charged for the following month. For yearly subscriptions, cancelling before the last day prevents renewal for the next year. Subscription fees charged up until that point will not be refunded.
If you cancel your membership, you will still be able to access your dashboard and all your conversations with your clients. All other benefits β including directory listing, the booking and calendar feature, invoicing system, profile statistics, social widgets, video solution, and community access β will no longer be available.
