Keep your scheduling in sync! Our platform allows you to import calendars from other services (like Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar) to avoid double-bookings, and export your It's Complicated calendar to view It's Complicated appointments across other calendar services you use.
Importing External Calendars
Importing your other calendars helps prevent scheduling conflicts by showing existing commitments from your other calendars on It's Complicated. When you import a calendar, any events on that calendar will make you unavailable for booking during those times on It's Complicated.
Connecting Google Calendar
Google Calendar connects directly through your Google account for seamless, automatic syncing. To connect Google Calendar, click "Link Google Calendar", choose the Google account you would like to important, and grant permission to It's Complicated to access your calendar. Afterwards, select the calendars from this Google account you would like to sync. Your Google Calendar events will now appear on your calendar view and automatically block out your availability for new bookings.
Connecting Outlook or Apple Calendar via ICS Feed
For Outlook and Apple Calendar, you'll need to provide an ICS calendar feed URL. This is a private link that allows our platform to read your calendar events.
How to Get Your ICS Feed URL:
For Outlook/Microsoft 365:
- Open Outlook Calendar on the web
- Click the gear icon (Settings)
- Go to "View all Outlook settings"
- Select "Calendar" > "Shared calendars"
- Under "Publish a calendar," select the calendar and click "Publish"
- Copy the ICS link
For Apple iCloud Calendar:
- Go to iCloud.com and sign in
- Open Calendar
- Click the share icon next to the calendar name
- Check "Public Calendar"
- Copy the provided URL
Adding Your Calendar to It's Complicated:
- Navigate to your calendar settings
- Paste your ICS feed URL into the field
- Click Add Calendar
Note: Imported calendars typically update every 1-4 hours. Changes in your external calendar may take some time to reflect in your It's Complicated availability. While Google Calendar syncing is instantaneous, any calendar that is not a Google calendar will get updated every 4 hours for subscribers.
Exporting your It's Complicated Calendar
Export your therapy session calendar to view appointments in your preferred calendar app on any device.
Getting Your Export URL
- Navigate to your calendar settings
- Under "Calendar Export," toggle enable calendar feed to on
- Copy the provided ICS feed URL
- Keep this URL private - anyone with this link can view your session schedule

Troubleshooting
My imported calendar isn't showing events:
- For Google Calendar: Check that you've granted proper permissions and selected the correct calendars to sync
- For ICS feeds: Verify the ICS URL is correct and still active
- Check that the calendar is enabled in your calendar view settings
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting the calendar
External calendar changes aren't syncing:
- Google Calendar syncs in real-time, so updates should appear within minutes
- ICS feed calendars update every 1-4 hours - please allow time for changes to sync
- Try manually refreshing by going to calendar settings
My exported calendar isn't updating in my other app:
- Calendar feeds update on a schedule (usually 4-24 hours depending on the app)
- Try manually refreshing the calendar subscription in your external app
- Verify you're connected to the internet
