At It's Complicated, we’re committed to creating a safe and trustworthy platform for both therapists and clients. As part of our ongoing quality management efforts, we now require all therapists to verify their identity by uploading a valid form of ID. This helps us ensure the integrity of our therapist network and maintain compliance with legal and regulatory standards across different countries.
What Identity Verification Means
Identity verification means that all therapists on It's Complicated must upload a valid government-issued ID in the Verification Section of their dashboard to confirm their identity. This step is mandatory before your profile can be approved or remain visible on the platform. Please make sure the document is not expired and shows your full name, your date of birth and a photo. For example, accepted documents include:
Passport
National ID card (e.g. Personalausweis in Germany or DNI in Spain)
Driving licence
🔒 Note: Your ID will not be visible to clients and is strictly used for internal verification purposes.
🔄 Name change: If you have gone through a name change, please remember to upload official confirmation. As part of the onboarding process, we compare the name on your diplomas with the name on your ID, so this documentation helps us verify that everything matches and confirms it’s really you.
Why We Are Doing This
To prevent impersonation and misuse of professional identities on our platform, we want to make sure that the person behind each profile actually is who they say they are. This will not only guarantee that all clients on It's Complicated work with verified professionals, but also protect your professional identity and reputation from being misused by others.
Thank You For Your Cooperation
We understand this verification requirement adds an extra step to your onboarding journey and profile management. However, we believe it's an important part of maintaining a safe, transparent, and compliant platform for everyone. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
