In Germany, there are specific rules and policies regarding who can legally call themselves therapists or psychotherapists. You can read more about these regulations here. However, as long as you can provide sufficient credentials to support the professional title you use, you can be listed in our directory. Regardless of your location, it is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with the rules and legal terms governing the use of professional titles in your country or region.
*In certain mental health professions within some jurisdictions it is legal to practice counselling and/or therapy without a license. If this applies to your situation, you need to provide proof that the scope of your training is equivalent to that of a licensed mental health professional.
To join It’s Complicated, you need to upload proof of the professional title you intend to use on the platform as well as documentation that confirm your eligibility to join.
